Ein Ausländer, offenbar Brite, in den reihen der Red Shirts – dazu noch in schwarzer Kampfmontur. Bewaffnet mit einer Bambusstange droht er das Einkaufszentrum Central World anzuzünden und zu plündern – drei Tage bevor es dann wirklich passierte.

Schon früher war ein Foto aufgetaucht, dass zeigt, wie ein Ausländer einen Geldautomaten zerlegt.



Nicht nur, dass sich ein Ausländer in Angelegenheiten der Thais einmischt, sondern das ser auch noch weiss, was mit dem Central World passieren wird. Es gilt als sicher, dass die Brandanschläge auf die besonderen Gebäude in Bangkok schon lange geplant waren und von gut organisierten Teams ausgeführt wurden.

A foreigner among the Red Shirts. In fact dressed in a black shirt. Armed with a bamboo pole threatening to burn and loot Central world – three days before it actually happened.

Heute, am Tag nachdem es in Bangkok zu den schwersten Kämpfen seit vielen Jahrzehnten gekommen ist und die Stadt an vielen Stellen brannte, ist Bangkok wesentlich stiller.
Nach der Ausgangssperre ist es jetzt erstmal wieder ruhiger. An vielen Stellen steigt immer noch Rauch auf und in den Hochhäusern an der Ratchaprasong Road verstecken sich immer noch militante Red Shirts.
Gerade in diesem Moment geht die Armee gegen die versteckten Scharfschützen dort vor. Das Gebiet ist abgeriegelt.

14 menschen sind gestern in bangkok durch die Kämpfe ums Leben gekommen. Auch aus Ubon Ratchathani werden zwei Tote gemeldet.

Die Regierung hat die Ausgangssperre jetzt bis nächsten Samstag auf 23 Provinzen ausgedehnt. Zwischen 21 und 5 Uhr ist es verboten, auf die Straße zu gehen.

Today – the day after Bangkok burned and saw the worst rioting in decades- Bangkok is a much calmer but also a broken city. After the curfew things are much quieter now. There is smoke still and some of the militants are still in the high rises on Ratchaprasong Road. Just right now, the armey has sealed the area off and tries to flush out the last of those snipers.

14 People have died yesterday in Bangkok. 2 deaths are reported from Ubon Ratchathani.

Meanwhile the government has extended the curfew on 23 other provinces. It is prolonged until next Saturday always from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Seit die Ausgangssperre seit 20 Uhr in Kraft ist, ist es schwer geworden, die Lage einzuschätzen. Augenzeugenberichte beschränken sich jetzt auf den Blick aus dem Fenster, Berichte können nurmehr über das Internet ausgetauscht werden.

Doch genau jetzt hat Twitter, die bislang beste Quelle für Informationen über die Ereignisse in Bangkok, Kapazitätsprobleme und für die meisten ist es unmöglich geworden, ihre Berichte zu posten.
Außerdem versucht das Informations- und Kommunikationsministerium die Dienste Twitter und Facebook zu blockieren.

Hier die Neuigkeiten:

Das Central World Einkaufszentrum brennt noch immer lichterloh. Der Gouverneur bangkoks hat bereits 600 feuerwehrleute und 450 Polizisten nach Siam entsandt. Berichten zufolge sollen bis zu 60 Feuerwehrwagen vor Ort sein. Offenbar steht das Gebäude aber noch, obwohl Teile der Wände herabstürzen.

Im Tempel Wat Prathumwanraam sind neun Menschen ihren Verletzungen erlegen, weil die Rettungskräfte sich keinen Weg durch den Kugelhagel bahnen konnte. Fünf der sieben weiteren Verwundeten seien jetzt in Krankenhäusern.

Der Tesco Lotus Supermarkt an der On Nut ist geplündert worden – noch vor der Ausgangssperre. Gerüchte, Rothemden würden die Angestellten des Marktes als Geiseln halten, haben sich nicht bestätigt.

Die Straßen sind jetzt wie leergefegt und es herrscht eine gespenstisch-ruhige Atmosphäre. Schüsse sind nur noch vereinzelt zu hören.

Since the curfew started at 8 p.m. it has become hard to tell what is really going on. Eyewitness reports can only be made by looking out the window and exchanging information over the internet.

At the same time Twitter – so far the number 1 source of live information on the stirring events in Bangkok is experiencing capacity problems and right now it seems to be impossible for some to post news on twitter. In addition the Thai Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) seems to block web services like Twitter and Facebook.

These are the latest facts:

Central world is still ablaze. The governor of Bangkok has send 900 firefighters and 450 policemen on the way to extinguish the raging flames. The mall´s structure as a whole has not collapsed although parts of the walls are falling down now.



In Wat Prathumwanraam temple 9 people have succumbed to their injuries since ambulances could not make their way through the hail of bullets. Five of the seven injured have been taken to hospital.

Tesco On Nut has been looted by Red Shirts shortly before the curfew. Rumors of Red Shirts having taken Tesco staff hostage have proven false.

Streets are deserted it is a spooky quiet atmosphere on the deserted streets. Gunfire has died down in most areas as well.

Geschätzte 2000 menschen haben sich in den Prathumwanraam Tempel geflüchtet, um den rasenden Feuergefechten draußen zu entgehen. Unter ihnen sind auch viele Verletzte.
